History
‘AARDBalm’ was the brainchild of Dr Kit Barrow (Microbiologist) who, in association with Dr Peter Cooke (Chemist), Edward Hickmott (Funeral Director), and Jeffrey Budd, developed a range of products, which offered a post death pre-Funeral sanitization process that is formaldehyde free.
The company was formed in December 1999, with the first years being dominated by in-depth literature research into the various ranges of naturally occurring products, which could be combined as a sanitizing medium.
In 2001, a product type was identified and manufactured in powder form, however the product‘s mixing procedure proved suitable only when undertaken in laboratory conditions, without time constraints.
Early 2002 brought about the introduction of a liquid formulation. Extensive in-house laboratory trials over a twelve-month period, and verification trials from an independent microbiological establishment followed. The ensuing two years, and after various field tests undertaken predominately by the second largest funeral provider in the UK, the product range was perfected.
To-date, the aforementioned company, along with other large independent funeral companies, has adopted our product range throughout its nationally established base as the preferred sanitizing medium.
